| | 2012 USJDP Junior Prep Camp
Week 1: July 1 - 7
Week 2: July 8 - 14
Magness Arena
University of Denver
Denver, CO
The USJDP Junior Prep Camp provides elite Junior, Midget and Bantam players (birth years 1992-98) the professional skill development and exposure necessary to better prepare for Junior A and College hockey. This camp is directed by NCAA D1, NHL, USHL and NAHL coaches/scouts and is intended for current year Junior, AAA, or AA players.
Featuring players from the US, Canada, Russia, Latvia, Switzerland, Germany, France, Mexico, Slovakia, England, and the Czech Republic, this 2-week elite development camp provides all participants a complete development, training & exposure program with a daily schedule consisting of 4 hours of on-ice development, three hours of off-ice training, daily Junior Hockey Seminars, and Showcase Games.
If you are looking to go to an event with a hundred coaches were you will be seen, this is NOT the right program for you. If you want to go somewhere where you can train with other high-end, elite players, this IS the program for you. The bottom line is this: if you are dedicated to working hard, pushing yourself, and doing whatever it takes to improve, than please feel free to apply for the USJDP Junior Prep Camp.
This is a two-week program and while it is recommended to attend both weeks to get the most out of the development program players may register for 1 or 2 full weeks if they so choose.
Resident Campers
Resident campers will reside in Centennial Halls on the campus of the University of Denver. All players will share a standard, 2-person collegiate dorm room and will be monitored 24/7 by USJDP Dorm Supervisors residing in the same residence halls. All players will receive 3 buffet stye meals per day.
No resident campers will be allowed to have cars on site during the week. If they drive to denver they must make arrangements for parking it off campus.
Additional resident camper information can be found on the Resident Camper Information link on left.
Day Campers Day campers will participate in all daily camp activities and will be provided lunch and dinner each day with the resident campers. Day campers will be responsible for all transportation to and from the rink. No housing is provided for day campers. Parking passes will be available for purchase for all USJDP Day Campers athletes for $20 per week and are highly recommended as parking is tight. Parking passes must be reserved in advance by contacting Mike Gempeler and can be picked up at the start of camp.
Player Evaluations Each player will be scheduled for a 1-on-1 meeting with one of the Prep Camp staff during the week they are in camp. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss, in person, their performance during the week, their strength's and weaknesses as a player, their mental understanding of the game, what the coaches saw during the week, what they need to work on, and how to best make these improvements. If a player is looking to make an impression on these coaches, maybe get on one of their watch lists, or even learn as much as possible from them, this is the time to do it. Players are encouraged to take full advantage of our Staff's knowledge, connections, experience and guidance to help them continue their development and move on to the next level. Family Resource
